Unlockable Scientists

Today I will be covering unlockable scientists. Now remember, the scientist is the medic of the zombies, so most of his abilities have to do with healing. The scientist also has the least amount of health of the zombies, so be careful when you are using him! The scientist has a shotgun type weapon. It does a lot of damage at a short range, and also has a slow rate of fire. The scientist is best at close range because that is where your weapon does the most damage at. It will be easiest to take down chompers too, which will be very helpful. It might sound weird, but you will want to stick as close to the enemy as possible.
For scientists there is the Marine Biologist, the Chemist, the Physicist, Dr. Toxic, the Astronaut, the Archaeologist, Dr. Chester and finally, the Paleontologist. Each and every one of these unique variants has a special ability that gives them a cool advantage in the game. Whether it's more damage, and elemental effect, etc. Starting off is my personal favorite, the Marine Biologist. The Marine Biologist doesn't technically have a small range, but at the same time he does. You will always want to be close to the enemy using him. He does a max of 70-80 damage when you are very close to the enemy. You can shoot people at a long range, but it doesn't do nearly as much damage as you do close ranged. Another cool and funny thing about the Marine Biologist is that his weapon is a dolphin. It "shoots," by spitting chum at the enemies. Also, you reload it by feeding it a fish! Moving on, next is the Chemist. The Chemist is the Scientist that you get at level 10 after you start getting parts for him from sticker packs starting at level 6. The Chemist is very similar to the Marine Biologist. Instead however, he doesn't do as much damage, but he covers a wider range when shooting. He also cannot shoot as far as the other scientists do, instead you can only shoot up-close. Next is the Physicist. The Physicist has the electric elemental effect which allows the shot to link enemies that are close together, doing damage to both of them at the same time. The Physicist is best at long range because he does the same damage at no matter how far you are away. The Physicist's shots also go extremely fast at the enemies which makes it faster to take down enemies. Next up is Dr. Toxic. Dr. Toxic is similar to the normal Scientist. His weapon does about the same amount of damage, but up close he does hurt! He also, as you probably guessed, has the toxic elemental effect which allows the user's shots to deal a small amount of constant damage of a short amount of time. The time the effect lasts depends how long the user is shooting the enemy for. Dr. Toxic is one who might be good at a medium range. That is because if you are too far away you won't do enough damage, and if you are too close, you will be vanquished because Dr. Toxic doesn't have a fast enough rate-of-fire. Following up is the Astronaut. The Astronaut is a fully-automatic scientist variant that also does about the same amount of damage no matter what range you are at. The Astronaut is another one who is best used at a far away range. That is because he has a fast enough rate-of-fire where you don't have to have the risk of getting to close to the enemy. Another benefit of being far away is that when you're shooting at an enemy, they will have to figure out where you are.
Next up on the list is the Archaeologist. The Archaeologist doesn't have any elemental effects to assist him in battle, but he does have a faster rate-of-fire than the other scientists though. He also deals a lot of damage at a close range. That makes it good because you can go from one opponent to the next in a short amount of time. Also, similar to the Marine Biologist, the Archaeologist can do a good amount of damage at a long range. Next is a more unique character. Dr. Chester comes from the same place has the Chester Chomper. Dr. Chester has an extremely low range, but he is also fully-automatic. You will have to be careful when using Dr. Chester because it is pretty hard to hit enemies with him. When you do start damaging enemies though, you will most likely vanquish them with ease. Lastly is the Paleontologist. The Paleontologist is part of the Legends of the Lawn free DLC. He has the fire elemental effect which allows him to set enemies on fire for a short amount of time, doing a medium amount of damage. The Paleontologist also has an unlimited range, so that means you can hit people from a very far distance, which makes it easier to vanquish your enemies. That is all for now, next time will be the unlockable All-Stars. UNTIL THEN!

Unlockable Engineers

Next up on the list is the Engineer Zombie. The Engineer is one of the more interesting zombie variants. His class is the sniper, but it doesn't actually shoot as far as you think. Think of him as a Peashooter mixed with a Cactus. He deals a lot of damage, his range is pretty far, and he also does splash damage. If you know how to use the Engineer, then you will definitely destroy the plants. A direct impact from the Engineer will definitely do a lot of damage.
For the Engineer there is the Welder, the Painter, the Mechanic, the Electrician, the Plumber, the Landscaper, and the Sanitation expert. Each and every Engineer has a unique little ability that they get that makes them special. I will explain all of that along the way. For now, lets just get started! First up is the Welder. The Welder happens to be the Engineer that you get at level 10. For each and every character in Garden Warfare there is a sub-character that you get at level 10. At level six you will get a sticker pack that contains a sticker for a character. As you keep leveling up you will keep getting character stickers, and at level 10 you will finally unlock a really cool and really powerful character! The Welder happens to get the fire elemental effect. Now remember, the fire elemental effect (as I have mentioned in previous posts) allows the user to shoot a flaming bullet of some sort, and if you hit an enemy with it, it will set the on fire. The fire only lasts for a shot period of time, but it can damages the enemy and does five damage per second. If an enemy is on low health you can easily take them out with the fire elemental effect. Next up is the Mechanic! The Mechanic works a bit differently than the others. The Mechanic actually has a fully automatic weapon. However, because it has a fully automatic weapon it does much less damage than usual; 7-8 to be exact. The Mechanic also shoots at a pretty quick rate too, which allows you to take down enemies faster. Moving on to the next character on the list is the Electrician. The Electrician is a super rare and also very powerful character. The Electrician has the electric elemental effect. The electric elemental effect allows the character with the effect to link multiple enemies at once doing damage to all that are linked, every time you hit an enemy. The Electrician also does a TON of damage alone without the elemental effect.
Next is the Painter. Unlike the other Engineer variants, the Painter's weapon is a crossbow, but unfortunately it is also semi-automatic. The special thing about the Painter though, is that it has a a wider splash damage area. For those who forget, splash damage is damage you take when a bullet of some sort hits the ground, and then take damage from the tiny little explosion of some sort that the bullet makes. Anyway, the Painter, and all engineers, do splash damage, but the Painter covers a wider area with his splash damage. Next up is the Plumber. The Plumber is kind of like the Painter, but the instead he does a lot of damage, and also covers a HUGE area of splash damage. You can use this to your advantage to. Say your chasing an enemy and they run around a corner and wait for you to come so they can take you out. You can use that splash damage to reach around those corners and hit them. The Plumber's splash damage also deals more damage than usual. Remember to use the plumber to your advantage by using the splash damage to reach enemies who are farther away than usual. Next up is the Landscaper. The Landscaper is fully automatic, and can also shoot faster than most of the other Engineers. Other than that, the Landscaper doesn't have anything special about him. He deals 30 impact damage, and ten splash damage. Moving on to the final Engineer. Lastly is the Sanitation Expert. The Sanitation Expert has the toxic elemental effect. The toxic elemental effect damages enemies at a pretty fast rate when the enemy has it. However, the Sanitation Expert does not have the toxic aura, so you will have to keep shooting the enemy to keep the toxic effect on them. The Sanitation Expert also deals massive damage to enemies, so make sure to aim for the body. That is all for now. Next time I will be covering the unlockable scientists. Until then!

Unlockable Foot Soldiers

Moving on to the zombie's side, the first one up is the Foot Soldier. The Foot Soldier zombie is one of the more interesting zombies. He appears to represent a soldier that would be in the military. The other variants of Foot Soldiers are also different types and ranks of military. The Foot Soldier does not have very many elemental characters, but has more unique and interesting characters that are full of surprises. Most of the Foot Soldiers are fully-automatic, or semi-automatic. There is one, however, that has a three-round-burst weapon.
For Foot Soldiers there is the Super Commando, the Tank Commander, the Arctic Trooper, the General Supremo, the Camo Ranger, the Sky Trooper, and last but not least, the Centurion. First up is the Super Commando. The Super Commando has a crossbow, which you think would be semi-automatic, but it isn't. Instead it is a three-round burst weapon. Which if you don't remember, means that it can only shoot three at a time, but the three rounds that you shoot get shot really fast. Each bullet does a pretty big amount of damage, so if you hit them with and each burst, you can vanquish the enemy pretty quickly. Next is the Tank Commander. The Tank Commander doesn't actually shoot bullets of any kind, but he actually shoots little rockets at you that explode on contact. A direct impact on the enemy will do massive damage along with splash damage. However, the Tank Commander can only shoot one rocket at a time. After he shoots he has to reload again, so you will want to be pretty precise with where you shoot your rockets at. Next up on the list is the Arctic Trooper. The Arctic trooper is very similar to the ordinary Foot Soldier. He has basically the same gun, same reload speed, and almost the same type of bullets. The Arctic Trooper is fully automatic which is good too. The Arctic Trooper, as you probably would have guessed, has the ice elemental effect. That means that every time he hits an enemy they will start to move slower, and they will also have a little snow storm surrounding them. If you hit the enemy enough times they will be frozen in place, not being able to use any abilities, and they won't be able to move around. The Arctic Trooper can be very helpful if they are in big groups. Next up is the General Supremo. The General Supremo is one of the more unique variants. His weapon of choice is the Golden Gatling. What that means is that he carries a big Gatling gun around with him. The Golden Gatling fires extremely fast, doing small amounts of damage though. Although the General Supremo doesn't have to reload, it can overheat just like the All Star's weapon. You will want to be careful while using the General Supremo though because it only does small amounts of damage.
Next is the Camo Ranger. The Camo Ranger is the Foot Soldier that you get at level ten. Each and every character has a character that you unlock at level ten. After level five you start to get sticker packs with a couple custamizable items, and a single character sticker. At level ten you unlock a cool new character. Anyway, the Camo Ranger is semi-automatic, meaning that you have to keep pressing the trigger button over and over again. Because of that though, he deals a higher amount of damage. The Camo Ranger is also similar to the Camo Cactus because he also represents a real sniper. One thing I forgot to mention is that he also has an increased zoom. The Sky Trooper is also one of the more unique characters. He does not have any elemental effects, but he does have something else that is special. While you are shooting you will want to keep shooting because his rate of fire increases the longer you keep shooting. Because of the increased rate of fire however, the Sky Trooper does slightly less damage, so it might take one to two clips of ammo to vanquish an enemy. Last on the list, but certainly not least, is the Centurion. The Centurion is probably the most unique Foot Soldier variant. He also has a crossbow, but it is semi-automatic. The Centurion also has the fire elemental effect. The fire elemental effect will set the enemy on fire (if the bullet hits the enemy) for a short amount of time, doing small amounts of damage. The Centurion does do a little bit more damage because of him having a semi-automatic weapon though. That is all for now. Next up will be the Engineer Zombie. Until then!

Unlockable Cacti

Finally ending the plant's side is the cactus. The cactus is the sniper of the plants. The cactus is probably the most interesting plant character because of some of her features. The cactus has a farther zoom, a slower rate of fire, and a higher amount of damage. All of those traits represents a sniper. The cactus has many characters that have many different elemental effects. The cactus is probably the most difficult plant character to use because of those traits that it has. There are a few strategies with the cactus that you can use that may help you. Because the cactus has different abilities than the rest of the plants, you can use those abilities in different ways. In gardens and graveyards there is an objective that you must defend from the zombies. When there are many zombies in the area you will want to put down some potato mines. Potato mines are hard to see because they are so small so you will want to put plenty of them down. Anyway, getting back to the topic.
For the cactus there is the Fire Cactus, the Power Cactus, the Ice Cactus, the Future Cactus, the Bandit Cactus, the Camo Cactus, the Citrus Cactus, and lastly, the Jade Cactus. All of these variants have a more unique touch to them then any of the other plants. The cactus variants also do not have very many differences than the original cactus itself. First up is the Fire Cactus. The Fire Cactus is just like any fire character. The Fire Cactus has the fire elemental effect which allows it to set the enemy on fire with each hit for a short amount of time. An ideal cactus for hunting enemies down and setting them ablaze. The Fire Cactus also does slightly more damage than the normal cactus. Next is the Power Cactus. The Power Cactus has the electric elemental effect which allows it to link any enemies near the target enemy, doing damage to all enemies in the vicinity. The Power Cactus is perfect for big groups of enemies because it will do massive damage to all of them at once. It is also ideal to use the Power Cactus in Garden Ops as well because you will be able to easily take down the huge hoards of zombies. Next up is the Ice Cactus. The Ice Cactus has the ice elemental effect. The ice elemental effect works a bit differently from the others. If you start to shoot enemies with the ice cactus, not only will you be doing a lot of damage, but you will also slow them down and they will also have snowflakes falling around them. If you shoot the enemy enough times they will get ice surrounding their feet, freezing them in place, and also allowing you an easy vanquish. The Future Cactus is one of the more unique cactus variants. The Future Cactus does not have any elemental effects, but instead has something different. The Future Cactus looks like she is part robot too. The Future Cactus can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger button along with having a charged shot. If you hold the trigger button you will start charging up a very powerful needle. The charge will do splash damage along with massive direct damage. Because the Future Cactus has a faster rate of fire though, it does slightly less damage. The Bandit Cactus has a more old western type of theme to it. The Bandit Cactus is a more run-and-gun type of cactus because she is fully automatic. The Bandit Cactus has a very fast rate of fire, and because of that, she has a lot of recoil.
The Camo Cactus is the character that you unlock at level ten. The Camo Cactus is also one of the unique variants of the cactus. The Camo Cactus has a longer mouth to shoot spike out of, and is also covered in camouflaged leaves. The Camo Cactus has the most zoom of any of the cacti, and also does the most damage. Because of those features however, it has a slower rate of fire, and also has less ammo, but those traits represent an actual sniper rifle. The Citrus Cactus is the free cactus that you get after purchasing the game along with the Berry Shooter. The Citrus Cactus is a three-round-burst cactus, meaning that it shoots three rounds at a very fast pace. The Citrus Cactus does do quite a bit of damage because of this, but each shot does less damage. Another good thing about the Citrus Cactus is that it has a lot more ammo than any other cactus. Lastly, but most certainly not least, is the Jade Cactus. The Jade Cactus is probably the most interesting cactus variant. The Jade Cactus looks like an old Samurai Warrior. The Jade Cactus has the most health of the cactus group, but is also the slowest. Because the Jade Cactus is the slowest, it is ideal to stay in one place and find people to pick off. The Jade Cactus is also the only damage that does technical splash damage. I say technical because each shot has a little explosion after it hits. If the shot hits the enemy, it will explode right away, but if it hits the ground, it will explode after a couple of seconds, dealing minor splash damage. That is all for the cactus variants, next time I will be switching over to the zombie's side, starting with the Foot Soldier. Until next time!

Unlockable Chompers

Just like every other character, the Chomper has a variety of unique characters that you are able to unlock. The Chompers are especially cool. Because the Chomper has the most health of the plants, it can do many more things than the others can. By that I mean it can survive longer, have more attack strategies, etc. The Chompers will always be the toughest to vanquish, so if you take one on you will want to be very careful and strategic about it. It is best to take on a Chomper from an elevated position because chompers don't have any ability that lets them jump high or get to you in any way. Anyway, back to the topic.
For the Chompers there is the Fire Chomper, the Hot Rod Chomper, the Power Chomper, the Toxic Chomper, Count Chompula, the Armor Chomper, Chester Chomper, and lastly, the Chomp Thing. The Chomper has the most unique set of unlockable characters. Starting off is my personal favorite, the Fire Chomper. I have mentioned this in my post about the ordinary Chomper and what not, but for those who forgot the Fire Chomper looks like a Chomper with fire surrounding its whole head and spiky hair. What the Fire Chomper does is instead of chomping the enemy, it will spew flames from its mouth, covering a short area. The flames don't have much range, so you will have to get up close and personal to the enemy. The fire itself will do damage, but it will also set the enemy on fire, doing small amounts of damage for only a few seconds. However, you can't spray the flames forever, if you keep holding down the trigger button for a while the flames will eventually stop, and the Fire Chomper will then have to "reload". The Hot Rod Chomper is one of the more interesting characters. The Hot Rod Chomper will still chomp the enemies, but when you finish eating an enemy it will get a speed boost similar to the Peashooter's hyper ability. The Power Chomper is similar to the Fire Chomper except for the fact that it spews electricity instead of fire. The Power Chomper also has the electric elemental effect. For those who forgot, if multiple enemies are next to each other and a character with the electric elemental effect hits them with their attack, it will link those enemies together, doing smaller amounts of damage to those who are linked together. The Toxic Chomper has the same effects as the Toxic Pea. The Toxic Chomper will spray green, liquid toxic at enemies in front of it, giving them the toxic elemental effect.
The Toxic Elemental effect works the same way as fire. The only difference is that the toxic damage does less than fire damage does, but the toxic effect lasts longer. The Toxic Chomper also has what is called a toxic aura. The Toxic Pea also has this same effect. Simply standing near the Toxic Chomper will give you the toxic elemental effect. However, this can also give away your position if you are sneaking behind an enemy. Next on the list is Count Chompula. Count Chompula is also a unique variant of the chompers. It works the same way as the Hot Rod Chomper too. It still chomps enemies like a regular Chomper, but when you finish eating an enemy you will regain 50 health; which is A LOT! Some spooky music plays at the same time too. Next is the Armor Chomper. The Armor Chomper is a part of the fairly old Zomboss Down DLC. (downloadable content) The Armor Chomper doesn't really have any special effects in it. It has the same attack as the regular Chomper. The only difference is that it has the most health out of every single character in the entire game. (225 to be exact) The Armor Chomper should always be at the front line when attacking. The Chester Chomper is one I have also mentioned earlier too. The Chester Chomper was created because Cheetos helped sponsor PopCap. (the creators of Plants vs Zombies) The Chester Chomper doesn't have any special effects either. The only difference is that it eats zombies the fastest of all the Chompers. Lastly, but certainly not least, is the Chomp Thing. The Chomp thing is a part of the Legends of the Lawn DLC. It is another unique variant of the Chompers. The Chomp Thing will spew out mud, murky water, and bugs. Sounds strange right? The Chomp Thing has the least amount of health of the Chompers, but also covers a wider area than normal when spewing its contents. That is all for this time, next time (as you probably predicted) I will be covering the characters of the Cactus. Until then!!!

Unlockable Sunflowers

Just like the peashooter, the sunflower has her fair share of unlockable characters. As you know, the sunflower has the lowest amount of health, but their is one particular sunflower that has a little bit more than usual. Some sunflowers do more damage than others, and some also have some elemental effects, and even some special abilities that others don't. Some might do more damage, some might hold more ammo, some might shoot faster, and some have more range than others. However, this does not only apply for the sunflower, it also applies for the other plants and zombies too! The great think about these character is that they eventually add more and more.
For the sunflowers there is the Mystic Flower, the Power Flower, the Shadow Flower, the Fire Flower, the Metal Petal, the Sun Pharaoh, and lastly, the Alien Flower. So starting off, the Mystic Flower is one of my personal favorites. The Mystic Flower fires almost as fast as you can pull the trigger button, implying that it is semi-automatic. Because she is semi-automatic, she has less ammo in each round, but each sun pulse does a lot more damage than the fully automatic sunflowers. Another awesome thing about the Mystic Flower is that she can charge up shots that will deal massive direct damage and a small amount of splash damage. The Power Flower has an elemental effect that I have not yet mentioned. If you have a character that has some form of attack that involves electricity, than it will have that electric elemental effect. If you hit an enemy and another enemy is near, it will link them together with electricity, doing a little bit smaller damage to the enemies that are linked to the main one getting hit. You could link the entire team with electricity if they were all together; there are no limits! The Shadow Flower actually looks pretty cool. Her petals are now all black with a blue outline, and her face is also blue. The special thing about the Shadow Flower is that she shoots faster than any of the other sunflowers, but because of that she has a shorter range.
The Fire Flower is like a regular sunflower, but instead she shoots fire sun pulses. The Fire Flower has the fire elemental effect that will set enemies on fire for a very short amount of time, and also doing a small amount of damage. Because of this, the Fire Flower can only shoot 30 shots per round. The Metal Petal is the sunflower that you get by leveling up. For those of you who remember, at level 10 you will unlock a particularly strong character. One thing I forgot to mention. Each character levels up separately, and not all at the same time. Each time you level up a character, you will also level up your player level. Anyway, the Metal Petal has the most health of all the sunflowers, which adds up to 150 health. A normal sunflower has 100 health, so that is a big increase. The Metal Petal also does a little more damage than an ordinary sunflower. However, because the Metal Petal is made of metal, she moves slightly slower than the other sunflower variants.
The Sun Pharaoh is a unique sunflower that you can get from the Zomboss Down DLC. (Downloadable Content) The Sun Pharaoh is a three-round-burst sunflower, meaning that it will shoot three rounds extremely fast. Because of this reason, the Sun Pharaoh will do more damage than normal. Another thing, because the Sun Pharaoh is a three-round-burst, it has a slower rate of fire. A little fun fact about the Sun Pharaoh is that there used to be a glitch (that they later fixed) that would allow the player to spam the trigger button, and after doing that the Sun Pharaoh would shoot all of her bullets at once, doing an insane amount of damage. Lastly, but most certainly not least, is one of my favorites, the Alien Flower. The Alien Flower is pretty interesting. She is also a semi-automatic sunflower that has a very low ammo capacity, but because of this she does high amounts of damage. After you shoot with the Alien Flower, wherever that bullet goes, it will leave what's called spore mist around. If an enemy stands in or around the spore mist, they will start to receive small amounts of damage at a very fast pace. It helps if you shoot the enemy because the spore mist will stick around where the bullet went. That is all for the sunflowers, next time you will hear about the chompers. Until then!

Unlockable Peashooters

Every playable character in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare has a variety of sub-characters that you can unlock. This time I will be explaining how to obtain and unlock these characters, but I will be talking specifically about the Peashooter for now. Later I will keep on going from character to character, and talking about what those specific characters do. You obtain most of these Peashooters through sticker packs. You buy sticker packs with coins that you earn by playing the game modes that the game has to offer. However, after leveling up after level 3 you will get a sticker pack containing 3 items. After level 4 those sticker packs will contain a character piece. Each time you level up after that, you will keep getting stickers. Eventually, at level 10, you will get a complete character. For the Peashooter that would be the Fire Pea.
For the Peashooters that you unlock, obtain, and automatically get, there is the Fire Pea, the Ice Pea, the Toxic Pea, the Commando Pea, the Agent Pea, the Law Pea, the Berry Shooter, and the Plasma Pea. Most of these Peashooters have elemental effects that can damage, or do something different, to the enemy. First off is the Fire Peashooter. The Fire Peashooter is kind of like the potted plant. They look very similar and even have the same elemental effect. Every time you hit them, no matter if it is direct or splash damage, you will set them on fire for a very brief amount of time. The fire damage will be rapid, and will do 5 damage every time. This is very helpful if the enemy you hit has low health and escapes. You won't have to chase them down because the fire will KO them. The Ice Pea is also very similar to the potted plant version. The Ice Pea will do a lot of damage when you get a direct hit. When you start attacking an enemy you will notice some snowflakes around them. They will also start to turn a light shade of blue. After you hit them a certain amount of times they will freeze in place with ice under their feet; giving you time to attack and deal massive damage. The Toxic Pea is one of my favorites. The Toxic Pea has another elemental effect: toxic. Toxic damage will do 2 damage for a short while; a little longer than the fire effect. Even standing near a Toxic Pea will inflict the toxic effect. The pea just has to fly past your head too; let alone hit them. So besides doing good damage on its own, the Toxic Pea is pretty over powered. The Commando Pea is actually pretty interesting. The Commando Pea is a fully automatic Peashooter. It is actually a lot less over powered than you probably think. Though it fires fast, it has a little bit of recoil, and the peas do 9-13 damage. The Commando Pea doesn't have any other special differences or anything. The Agent Pea is my personal favorite. It fires as fast as you can press the trigger button. Though it doesn't do as much damage as any other peashooter, it fires rapidly (depending if you can fire the trigger button fast enough) and also does a good amount of damage. The Law Pea looks like a Peashooter dressed up as an old, wild west, sheriff. The Law Pea is also fully automatic, but only shoots six bullets. The six bullets actually represents the ammo of a revolver, which was a common weapon back in those days. The Law Pea will also do as much damage as a a regular Peashooter too; making it ridiculously over powered. You actually get both the Berry Shooter and the Plasma Pea through a sticker pack that is given to you for free. The Berry Shooter actually represents the new Aquafina flavor. It doesn't have any special effects whatsoever. The Plasma Pea can actually charge up a shot. When it is fully charged it will implode, and then explode, doing massive damage. You can also fire really fast on your own. That is all for this time. Next time will be the Sunflower. So until next time!
